We have a new method of protecting eyepieces during public sessions. The idea came from Lowell Observatory. The petri dish half is attached to the eyepiece with velcro so it can be removed at the end of a session for complete eyepiece cleaning. The eyepiece could be covered in plastic cling wrap for additional protection. The petri dish can be wiped down between observers so the eyepiece isn't subjected to multiple cleanings and thus reduces the chance of possible damage. Petri.jpg petri2.jpg
