The dome stuck on consecutive nights requiring our guests to pull on the rope:( Jason has suggested that we raise the tires to apply more pressure on the ring. Seems like that might work. Anybody interested in a work group this week or maybe even tomorrow (Sunday). I am hosting yet another private night tonight so we can't do it today. This will require some blocking and a hydraulic jack as well as some large wrenches. I have everything needed but the enthusiastic manpower.

I won’t be available tomorrow, but I could probably help any day or evening next week. Let me know what you decide. Rick Hildabrand

I'll make an announcement if I can put something together. A member has tonight reserved for imaging. Jason and I are going to make an assessment tonight to make sure we know what tools will be needed.

Monday early. 9:00 or before or after 7:00 PM. We can blow air conditioning in from the classroom if we need it. We may just be tearing the panelling off in preparation for the actual jacking. I'll have every thing we need.
Anyone else reading this is welcome to watch and offer critiques of our process.

Perhaps Tuesday. Got in at 3:30 AM this morning after a night's imaging. Matt Prentise took some images with his personal Canon. I think he got some nice stuff. Jason came down earlier and after scouting how much paneling we would have to remove on the north drive we shifted to the south drive. He raised it about 1/2 inch to increase the pressure on the ring but it didn't help. The south drive has an easy to adjust mechanism. The north drive is far more involved. We just avoided the 290 and 50 degree area and didn't get stuck after the initial tests when we intentionally stopped the dome at those positions. Two men and a rope got it loose. At least we didn't have to rig the cable and come-a-long.

Let's go Tuesday morning. Leave my house about 8:30. No AC in the Tahoe, thus the morning.Sent via Gmail from  David Young youngmdavid@gmail.com
