On Thursday Jerel Williams, Jim Caruthers, Jason Forst and I spent 7 1/2 hours working at Powell. We are finally nearing completion of the repair of the electrical in the dome and the repair of the deteriorated top ring. We're finishing up just as we got good at cutting the plywood arcs for the splices to the correct shape :-)The gang will hopefully finish up the trim and cleanup tomorrow afternoon. Three of us will be starting at three o'clock and Jason will join us around 6:00 for a final push to completion prior to Saturday nights private scout group. Jim resisted my suggestion that we mix up the numbers on the ring to see if anyone noticed.
If you've been to Powell lately you may have noticed our gravel driveway has gradually deteriorated into a muddy mess at the east end. I intend to have 10 tons of AB3 delivered next week. The truck driver should be able to make a moving dropalong the length of the "road" but of course there will need to be some hand work to smooth it out. Anyone interested in helping to smooth it out next Saturday should email or call me. Many hands make for easy work. Let me know if you help Friday afternoon or Saturday. This will be weather dependent. Crappy weather will mean a reschedule. Long range guess looks ok but this is KC and subject to looking out the window to see what season we are having each day.
